Fear is weak.
Fear poses as a giant, loud, obnoxious, and powerful force. But it’s a lie. A place of darkness.
Fear wants us to cower. That is the only way it can win. It has us under its control and can manipulate or destroy if it can get us to cower. In other words, Fear’s goal is inaction on our part. Silence, isolation, action-less. The only power Fear possesses comes directly from its victims. Fear is loud so that it creates confusion. We instantly believe we are incapable, powerless. It has us focus on chaos. That way we can not ascertain the truth of a situation. We become paralyzed, then fear has its way.
THE GOAL OF FEAR IS INACTION
But if we see past the distractions caused by fear, we can remember that Courage is stronger than Fear. Courage causes Fear to flee.
COURAGE VS. FEAR
Why is fear so much easier than courage?
We must remember that Fear deceives us into thinking it is stronger – because our default response to chaos is to throw up our guard and find a safe place. So we run. We run from opportunities, circumstances, people – anything we perceive as a threat.
Courage, on the other hand, must be deliberate. It resists the urge to obey the chaos and instead looks beyond the distraction. Courage shines a light on the darkness of fear.
Once activated, Courage turns into a powerhouse of possibility and will always prevail over Fear. [Fear always uses chaos to distract from that which brings blessing, pushes you into a place of isolation/control, or covers a weakness. If you see something that is distracting your attention through fear, maybe it is a signal to ignore the distraction and find the hidden blessing, opportunity, weakness in the source, or a door of safe haven.]
COURAGE IS NOT HARD, BUT IT IS DELIBERATE
Fear doesn’t know what to do with Courage. Fear’s friend is Intimidation. Courage bans both – rendering them useless and ineffective. Fear and Intimidation will always rob. That is their nature. Born out of Satan, their nature and purpose are to steal, kill, and destroy. They tell us the lie that Courage is too risky.
Risky? Yes. TOO risky? No.
Courage stands firm. It reduces or eliminates the effects of loss. [ Resist the enemy and he will flee… ] Courage resists Fear, and Fear, when it realizes that its pretense of power has been found out, will run the other direction.
FEAR SEEKS TO CONCEAL OR DISTRACT FROM THE TRUTH, COURAGE REVEALS THE TRUTH
COURAGE STARTS WITH ACTION
What if the abused stood up to their abuser? The masses ran TO an attacker rather than from? People faced the prospect of failure and discovered they could do more than they thought?
What inventions would be created, what lives would be saved, what confidence would be birthed?! Or think of the friendships that would be forged, the strengths found, and the weaknesses lost!
Fear and Intimidation are robbed of power, life, energy by Courage. Courage starves fear by cutting off the food that feeds it. Fear is a giant lie telling you to sit down, shut up, and don’t move. It wants inaction because Fear is SO weak and vulnerable that even the smallest child with Courage can defeat it.
COURAGE IS FOUND IN ACTION
Remember, Fear is a poser. It has no power except what it can trick us into believing. Courage is found in action. Fear controls through inaction. It also isolates and separates. Why? Because Courage is contagious. It starts with a word of faith that simply speaks out, “No! I will NOT be quiet, I will NOT sit down, and I WILL take action against you, Fear!” It starts with one person and spreads to anyone else that is nearby. Once Courage takes action, fear melts away and we wonder why we thought our challenge was so impossible, to begin with.
